It looks official, Kong is a bomb, Dick and Jane no fun too

Not da bomb, just a bomb.

See numbers in charts here: Box Office Mojo.

Kong has taken in just over $80 million so far, which doesn't sound that bad, but it's losing ground with each day it is out.

The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has climbed back into first place, making it clear that movie does deserve blockbuster status.

In other related news, the remake of the "Fun with Dick and Jane" flim from the 70s, this time around with Jim Carrey in the lead role along with Téa Leoni, is looking to be a complete dud also. Just over $1,000 per screen is pathetic. The numbers for it can be found in the charts above also. Unless there's a ton of movie-goers waiting to rush the theatres for that film this weekend, it will be well on the way to DVD pretty darn quickly.

Well, Heaven's Gate was worse!  It is really not a bad movie.  Just too long.

I have friends who went to see Kong last weekend. They walked out. My friend was disgusted with it. She didn't go into specifics, but I don't need them. It's enough for me to pass.

We went to see King Kong last night, and we actually thought it was good. Being a big wus when it come to movies, there were some scenes in the first half that I definitely covered my eyes for. I am probably not the best movie critic, but I thought overall it was done rather well. I may be partial however since I love movies from that time period, and I am sentimental about remakes of movies that I saw as a child.

We just went to the theater Thursday night to see King Kong, both my wife and I thought it was a good movie. (The Italian dubbing was really good). There were several scenes where you could definitely see the actors interacting with a screen or something, so as far as special effects, I've seen better, but a good movie none-the-less.

My wife and I are also partial to movies from that time period! It definitely affected what we thought of the movie afterward.
