BUSH Has Destroyed the National Guard's Equipment

The commanding General of the National Guard said yesterday the National Guard does not the equipment needed to perform its basic mission because of the Iraq War. The National Guard has only 34 % of the needed equipment and much of that equipment is in not in good condition. The vast majority of the National Guard Equipment was shipped to Iraq and even when it is returned will be unusable because of the war.

What is even worse is that Bush has not taken steps to replace that equipment. The Guard has estimated it will take $15 Billion dollars and six YEARS to replace their equipment. Bush has done NOTHING to request the needed funding for this equipment.

What this will mean is that the next time the country needs the National Guard to help with a disaster, the Guard will be unable to respond properly! GREAT JOB Mr. Bush!

As usual you are wrong.

The Comptroller General can be accessed at : http://www.gao.gov/

Here is what he said :

Currect Fiscal policy is Unsustainable.

We face large and growing structural deficits.

He went on to say, the currect policy will require either a 60% cut in ALL Federal spending or tax increases 2.5 Times the current levels

As usual the Bushies just ignore anything they do not agree with and that shows the current policies are harming this nation.

As usual col you ignore data and facts that contradict your opinions. When was the last time you addressed a good showing of the economy?

Why is it when someone shows you a poll (which you base all your opinions from) in which Americans feel better about the economy and their personal wealth you ignore it?

Answer the questions or remain a hypocrit.

WASHINGTON Dec 9, 2005 — People are feeling better about the economy and their own financial situations, a hopeful sign they'll act more like Santas than Grinches while holiday shopping.

The RBC CASH Index, based on polling by Ipsos, showed that consumer confidence clocked in at 85.5 in December, the second-highest reading of this year.

It's a pol col, and polls mean everything, right?

Could you be more specific, Gene? Do they need more guns and ammo? More tanks? Better tanks? Working Tanks? Trucks? Helos?

The economy so far as GDP and numbers of jobs has improved. The quality of the jobs, the loss in Average weekly wage after inflation is NOT helping the average worker. Personal debt is a major issue as interest rates increase. Housing and American car sales are turning sour. Major job layoffs are another problem. The trade deficit hit an all time high. The cost of home heating will take a real bite out of consumer spending this winter. The economy is not nearly as strong as Bush is saying. It is strong for SOME companies (oil) and for the upper income groups.

It is the average workers responsability to make his own life better. I am in a bad financial situation as we speak. I do not blame the Gov't. I could do better if I just tried harder. Why don't I? Good question, I don't know why I don't, I do know it's not because of Bush or Clinton or Bush Sr. or anyone else.

Personal debt is a major issue as interest rates increase.

Again, this is personal responsability. People should learn to control their expenses. Are you gonna tell me that it's Bushs fault that everyone in the US wanted a $400 Xbox 360 and now they will have to pay up the ying yang for it on their credit cards? Do most people really need BMWs, Mercedes Benz or Lexus'?

Housing and American car sales are turning sour.

I guess all those new cars on the road must be 2004's.

Major job layoffs are another problem.

It's possible. But still they need to look for another job not just sit around.
The trade deficit hit an all time high

True, sh_t happens.

The cost of home heating will take a real bite out of consumer spending this winter

Always has, always will. Wont stop them from spending hundreds or thousand on expensive toys for their families.

The economy is not nearly as strong as Bush is saying.

Maybe not as strong but still stronge which kinda contradicts what your saying.

It is strong for SOME companies (oil) and for the upper income groups.

Those same companies that depend on those lower wage people to work for them? BTW, wouldn't Ford be considered an uppper income group? And wouldn't that contradict what you just said since you also claim they are lossing money and that's why people are getting laid off? Contradiction, Contradiction, Contradiction. It seems to be a pattern for you.

polls mean everything ONLY when they prove your point, silly!

The point you do not acknowlerdge is that many of the elements like personal debt and living wage jobs may be personal but they are were that REAL impact of the economy falls Growth in GDP means nothing to the average person unless they see the benefits. The points I have have made is that many of those things that impact the majority of people are not improving. Newsweek has a story pf how out of touch Bush is with the majority of Americans. His policies and who they help is the best proof that he does not know or care what the impact is on the majority of Americans just his base. That is why 2/3 or more do not support most of his policies. I can not think of a single major issue were the majority support what Bush and the conservatives in Congress are doing!

Give me some proof that the Bush policies on anything are supported by the majority of Americans?

The quality of the jobs,

Col, do you understand that the rhetoric that these jobs are somehow "not quality" enough for you is unfounded? This was a campaign tactic by Kerry that was debunked.

I have posted proof before, but as usual you ignored it.

Give me some proof that the Bush policies on anything are supported by the majority of Americans?

Another poll that you ignore.

You have not given ANY proof that Bush has been effective in solving ANY of this countries problems. Lets try again:

Trade

Budget deficit

Immigration

Health care coverage

Manufacturing Job loss

Social Security Funding

Medicare Funding

Medicaid funding

Rebuilding the Gulf

Getting out of Iraq

Energy independence

Education

Please do "try" again col........this is NOT what you asked for! This is!

They "must" have been supported by at least a simple majority. I mean after all GW did get re-elected for a "second" term.

That was in November 2004. What of the Bush policies do the majority of Americans support today?

Do "you" even know for a fact? Or are you just spouting what you, yourself don't support? And just an fyi....the Nov 04 bit? That is only 383 day ago. That is not very long is it? And btw do NOT bother to quote your usual stupid polls that actually mean nothing.
