Jack Thompson has been fired up again. The outspoken Florida attorney has turned the attention of media outlets to a 16-year-old boy who has been arrested, allegedly for making death threats to the anti-game activist.
Thompson's e-mail stated that, "The specifics of the torture with which Thompson was threatened are so grotesque that they cannot be properly placed in this news release. The torture was to end with the shooting of Thompson, as in this teen's favorite games."
Gamespot has confirmed that the boy has been charged with "harassing communication" after Thompson turned in a tape of a phone call as evidence, but the Sheriff's Office couldn't confirm if he had been arrested. The unnamed minor can receive a maximum of a year in prison and a $4,000 fine if convicted.
Thompson closed his message with a statement that makes it sound as if the child was under the payroll of the game industry, "'Shoot the messenger' is the video game industry's strategy. This time, because of the arrest in Texas, it didn't work. It backfired."
