CPU Utilization

Cursor XP High CPU usage

Running Windows XP on IBM T23 laptop with 1Gig of Memory. When I move the mouse around, CursorXP 1.31 goes to about 80% cpu. Just moving the mouse around. If I reboot, it behaves normally for a while. I may be related to suspending the laptop. I've even disabled CursorXP and then Reenabled it. I have to reboot to get it to act normal again. If I disable CursorXP, I do not have any CPU problems. Help - I really like Cursor XP.

I have the same problem on my XP pro machine.

Morphh posted in December and still no replies?

Wow i can't get cxp to go above 10% cpu usage even when running other progs and having the cursor animated and lets face it as software goes it's not exactly a huge app,a couple of things i can think of is close unnecessary processes and also configure your comps to provide more cpu and memory to running apps rather than background processes

I actually have this same problem from time to time. I usually notice a drop in performance, and when I fire up TaskManager to look who's the culprit, I often (but not always) found that it was CursorXP.

Now the tricky thing is that (at least on my system) I can't unload CursorXP, whitout losing my cursor pointer completely, which makes Navigation a bit tiresome. The only thing I can do in that situation is to just reboot. Luckily it's just an intermittent, and fairly rare problem on my system, but I still would love to hear some oppinions about it.

i had my pc up for a month
& i use it alot
i work from home
& i saw that CursorXP.exe only had used like 0:01:09 of CPU time

but when i move it around real fast i dont even see a load on the cpu at all
& i run CursorXP.exe in realtime
because i have apps that use alot of CPU
