I think everyone has jumped to conclusions here but I must say I'll be disappointed to never hear an actual explanation of how or why this 'X' occured.

(note: Deference is still awaiting a satisfactory explanation behind the 2004 Presidential Debates 'Bush Bulge' not to be confused with the very different and south-of-the-equator 'Cheney Bulge')

I wouldn't get too upset over it, glitch or deliberate. After all, Cheney's questionable maneuvers over the years perhaps warrants being on the spot.
