Newdow out to nuke In God We Trust from U.S. money

Idiot atheist Newdow is trying again to show what a complete jerk and egomaniac he is.

Having won a ruling (on the words "Under God" in the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance) in front of the clowns in California, which continues in the court system having been punted by the U.S. Supremes in the past (but which will wind up there again now that Newdow got rid of the technicality that stopped that suit before), he has not gone away, and in fact is trying to show himself to be just as idiotic now as he was then, if not more so.

In news reports about the "money" issue, he complains that he can't raise funds for his "church" of atheists because he and his followers can't accept money with the words "In God We Trust" on it since it goes against their own beliefs.

Some people try hard for their express ticket to the fiery afterlife. Newdow is one of them. I look forward to a time when he stands in judgement and tries to tell the higher power that he doesn't belief. I'm sure he'll argue the point even as he's taken away to his own "reward."

Someone should remind the mindless Newdow that it has been a very long time since the U.S. government has issued any moeny whatsoever... What used to be called "Greenbacks" are relics of a distant past. All the money minted in the U.S. now are Federal Reserve Notes. Since the Federal Reserve is a private (as in NOT GOVERNMENT) entity, and private entities can put the word "god" anywhere they want, I have a suggestion where he can put his ego, his stupidity and his meaningless lawsuits.... ;~D

Yes of all the problems our nation faces today...why not take valuable time and divert attention to this pressing social issue.

Itis actually semi private.  The Governing board is appointed by the President.  He is goin gover the government connection on this one.  It will get to the SCOTUS as the 9th circus will rule with Newdow.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is kooky. The problem for the rest of us is that they're also incredibly legislative, isn't it?

What is the plural of 'doofus'? Doofi?

it's schlemiels. but, ted, outta deference to your knowledge of the constitution, where does it provide for the secretary of the treasury to devise an alternative national motto and order it added to all us currency and coinage on his own initiative?

Actually Kingbee, the minting of money is mentioned in the Constitution, and assigns that authority to Congress (Art 1, Sec. 8.5). However, if you look at the history of U.S. currency, everyone from individual banks, to religions, to companies and states have minted their own currency in this country. The only time the U.S. Government has ever minted it's own currency though were the "Greenback Dollars" which were printed from 1862 to 1867. Interestingly enough, the Greenbacks have been the only currency that have been challenged in the Supreme Court. ;~D

The Federal Reserve was established as a seperate (but regulated) entity to both standardize currency in the U.S. and seperate currency from the government... ironic since the government usually just seperates everyone from their currency. ;~D

Oh yea, and Thanks for the correction of the spelling of "Schlemiels"... I wouldn't want my spelling to make me look like one. ;~D
