The Tuscaloosa News has details pertaining to Jack Thompson's civil suit against game companies following the triple murder of three police officers in Alabama. According to the report the collected defendants, Sony, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games, Wal-Mart, and GameStop, have called for Thompson to be dismissed from the case, and that his license to practice in Alabama be revoked due to violation of legal ethics.
The motion brought against Thompson was based upon his press releases that attacked the defending law firm, Blank Rome, stating that Thompson would "turn the courtroom into a circus."
Thompson responded, "I didn't start this food fight. They started it and I have a right to respond because, believe it or not, I have a life outside of this case." Browsing gaming web-comics such as Penny-Arcade?
The defense also asked to have the whole case dismissed under the First Amendment, and that nobody could have predicted Moore's actions. To see full details of the story and the exchange between the lawyers head over to Tuscaloosa News.
