The content of the documents Berger shredded didn't end up in magazines and newspapers. He didn't jeopardize any CIA operations or expose any CIA employees, as Libby is alleged to have done.

I just find it hypocritical that the left, lead by moveon.org, were telling us 6 years ago to "moveon" and now they are telling us "dwellon".  If they had remained consistent, then they would have some credibility.  As it is, they are like NOW.  Sexual harrasment is only bad when done by a Republican.

That really doesn't matter. You have a former high ranking administration official stealing classified documents and destroying them. I still don't think anybody knows why, probably to hide his boss from the Able Danger investigations.

Actually, I didn't jump on the Rove/Libby thing because no one ever presented any real evidence for the longest time. It smelled of a witch hunt, and while I don't like Rove at all, I'm not going to go for the pitchfork and torch based on wild rumor.

Why should it matter what the content was? They were CLASSIFIED documents belonging to the US government and he STOLE them and then disposed of them! Your attitude on this is EXACTLY what I'm referring to. You say Libby did something so heinious that he deserves to be in jail. Okay fine. But Burglar did something equally as heinious and all he gets is a lousy $10K fine. And you want to call that justice?

I did not say she was covert, nor did I say he was indicted for that. There is a lot of evidence that he identified a CIA employee to reporter(s) that they did not previously know to be a CIA employee. Whether or not that's a crime is not the point I was making.

Yes, they were classified...he's admitted that, but you can't make an honest case that shredding documents is as "heinous" (your word, not mine) as giving classified information to reporters. He may not have violated the law in question regarding outing a covert operative, but he most certainly gave them information that was classified.

Dr. Guy, Libby has not been convicted. He has been charged with a serious crime, true. I am sure that there are some who have pre-judged his guilt or innocence, but they are the fringes of both parties.

However, I think that there is sufficient evidence to warrant a trial. Libby is charged with 5 counts of perjury, obstructing justice and making false statements. At this point I think it less a question of "outing" anyone, and more a question about lying to a grand jury. No man is above the law and these are serious charges.
