i used a desktop x file and now im not using it any more, and the taskbar has dissapeared!!! W T F do i do??? btw, im a complete n00b

Are you using anything else like ObjectDock which also has an option to hide the taskbar? or Object Bar?

have you put your mouse on all four edges (not at once

) to see if it's on auto hide or really gone?

also if it is in hide mode right clickon the taskbar/properties/taskbar tab/uncheck the "auto hide" box in task bar properties

It's possible that DesktopX was set to hide the taskbar, and if it didn't exit properly your taskbar could be left hidden.

If you're using Windows XP, the easiest way out in that case is to press ctrl-alt-delete to bring up the Task Manager, select Log Off from the Shut Down menu, and then log back on. Your taskbar should come back.
