Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

Let me tell you a story about a man named Jed. No, he did not strike it rich in oil.  This man was a life long democrat.  Voted for Bill Clinton twice, as well as Jimmy Carter.  He also voted for Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer (so yea, he may live in Beverly Hills).  A man who could be counted on to get out the vote for whatever democrat was running, with few reservations.

Then one day, he looked up, and could not stand what he saw his party Becoming.  He could not even stomach the people running it.  He was looking for a vision of the future.  He desperately wanted to be told what was good about his country and how he could make it better!  Instead, all he heard from his leaders was how rotten and horrible America was.  And how rotten and horrible his life would become.

No Grand vision.  No positive uplifting thoughts, just death and despair and corruption and ruin.  So this man did the only thing a sane rational, proud of his country, man could do.  He went Independent.

Now that in itself is not a defeat for the democrats.  But his ostrization and the hate that flowed from his former friends and party mates made him drift even farther to the right.  To the point where he has almost nothing good to say about the democrats.  Indeed, he rails against them at every opportunity and calls them stupid idiots.  They then try to impugn his reputation, his intelligence, his integrity.  Anything to bring this man down, instead of trying to win him back.

This is not a political rant.  This is not an article to label the democrats stupid or wrong, or idiots or loonies.  It is a warning.  You want power back, you crave power.  Yet you demean the very people who could give it back to you.  You have made an enemy for life, and yet all you see is a traitor who must me destroyed.  But he represents a lot of people who could elect one of yours, if instead of vilifying them, you embraced them and opened your tent to them.

Do I worry about the democrats reading this and seeing the writing on the wall?  Do I worry about them trying to correct this?

Not at all.  For I am not a democrat, and they will never listen to me.  They hate me as much as Jed.  And that is all they have left.  No vision, No plan.  Just hate.

As a historical reference, the way Hitler got to power was to breed hate against Jews.  He did a very good job of it.  But so far, no one has succeeded like him since then.  Wonder why?  Think about that as you go on hating that which you cannot control, or does not agree with your world vision.
