I don't live in quite so much urban excess, so I can still complain. Neener neener.
Gas prices range from about $3.09 on post up to as much as $3.51 (neighbor islands). Yikes.

lol...and let's not forget, many of us pay $8.00 a gallon for WATER! (a buck for a half liter bottle works out to about that).

Hehe. I drink free water. None of that fancy bottled stuff for me!
Well, I admit to buying bottled water at times...50 cents for a liter and a half at the dollar store, or 25 cents for a gallon of filtered water at the senior center...but that's just because you have to chew the water twice here afore you swallow!

Water there is super yucky. The water here is nice. A lot of people have bottled water delivered to their homes, but after drinking small town Texas water for so many years (I was a teen before my parents stopped making us drink tap!), this water tastes delicious to me!
