MSN Messenger attention effect and autohide

This is how I have my docks set up: http://img260.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desktop0wk1.jpg

I have a Dock at the bottom with the "Show dock as a drawer" option turned on.
There's a tab "Tray" with the systray icons.

There's also a autohide dock on the left edge, with the "Show running tasks on the dock" option on. I use it to quickly change between running programs (like using ALT+TAB)

The problem is that when messenger is running it won't show the "attention effect" when I get a message, because of the "autohide" option.

Is there any way to make it show, keeping the current setup?
How are you guys running messenger with objectdock?
Thanks for the help

I've never used messenger so I'm not sure where you see the "attention effect". If it's on the taskbar then you'll need to turn off the autohide feature. It will not UNhide/show on the basis of a icon change. If it's on the systray you also will need to turn off autohide. I would recommend this in any case for the systray. I would also recommend that your systray be on it own "standard" (not tabbed) dock with the Object Dock animations turned off. Most icons will still make their own effects with this configuration. For some reason the systray works better by itself on a dock. Any time I add anything else to the dock I can see a noticeable performance hit. I've also found that the systray looks better at a smaller icon size, especially if you use the default program icons.
