A TROPICAL STORM (LIKELY SOON TO BE HURRICANE) IS ON THE WAY TO THE GULF. IT WILL SURELY BE BUSH'S FAULT IF YOU ARE IMPACTED, SO GET OUT NOW. DON'T WAIT FOR FEMA TO COME SAVE YOUR SORRY BUTT!!

In all seriousness, a mandatory evacuation order has been put out for the Florida keys for this storm. I sincerely hope people in that area get out of there and don't try to ride it out. Even if the storm winds up coming through and doing little or no damage, the one thing Katrina should have taught people is to take the warnings seriously. Yes, evacuations may be costly and time consuming, but dealing with evacuations is much better than trying to pick up the pieces of your life later, or sitting and waiting (and grumbling that the government isn't doing enough) for assistance after a storm blows through.
