I have a Mac. I'm a Mac user.  I like the Mac.  But I don't like Mac zealots. Read on for my thoughts along with thoughts on a recent incident from Paul Boyer.

I like the Mac too and have used it in the past. A long time ago I've heard it said that "Microsoft was ripping off Apple"...a really long time ago. I didn't realise that sentiment was still being bandied about! (I guess since I'm not a tech head and not in the industry so to speak.)

I hate Apple.
And I hate Macs. At least the new ones.
I hate the Applets (as I call them) that say that Apple invented *EVERYTHING* and how Apple is perfect and blah blah blah....
Just pisses me off.

I can understand software developers with a vested interest getting annoyed and feeling a need to vent some steam over Apple claims, but it astounds me when average users display a hatred with a passion for Apple and its followers. It just seems somewhat extreme to me

As far as Apple and Macs themselves go, I like them. In my experiences with an iMac and Mac Mini, I liked them, plain and simple, I might even get one someday (for a server and such).

But....as said here what I don't like is when Mac-fanatics claim that they flat-out INVENTED things they simply did not. They made good adaptations yes, but give credit where it is do!
So I guess it's more like this, I like Macs, just not the Mac fanatics. I'd rather use a PC, but remember I'm not PC fanatic either, we can all sit at the same table (if people are just willing to do so).
It's just more of a matter on WHO the people are.

Note: I will say though, those Mac-zealots really just gobble that propaganda up. Seen the apple site recently? A few weeks ago they had articles in their news section on how Apple was "Named the most innovative company in the world!", the zealots clearly have thin minds if they believe such things so easily....sad really.
