I grew up with bands like REO Speedwagon and Twisted Sister. As a teenager, I loved that kind of music. But at 32 years of age, I find myself evolving to other types of music. Not that I still don’t like rock, but just find myself wanting to hear other kinds of music as well.

One new young singer who caught my ear a couple of years ago was Charlotte Church. When I first heard her, I was delighted by her incredibly gorgeous voice. When I found out she was only 15, I was very surprised. Then I found out she had made her first album when she was only 12. And it was the most popular album ever sold for a singer her age. Charlotte has never had much training as a singer. She grew up with a natural singing talent. At 17 now, she undoubtedly has a great singing career ahead of her. I was fortunate enough to see her perform at the Aladdin Theater back in April of 2003. She was on her way to a major function somewhere here in the United States and had stopped off here in Las Vegas for only one night. It was an excellent performance and her stage presence was stunning.

It is truly a breath of fresh air to have someone like her bringing singing talent to the world in these times. In a time when you have such immoral people like Janet Jackson, Madonna, and Britney Spears, Charlotte Church is a beacon of hope for a decadent, whoring, Hollywood-ish Entertainment Industry.

Charlotte is an incredible talent. I'm a person that likes to close their eyes and drink in music. It is dissappointing how much people rely on "the total package" these days. Some of the best voices are from people who are "just singers". I personally don't care in they can't dance, can't act etc.

I have never actually heard the girl sing, despite all the rave reviews she's been getting. I saw some pictures of her and not only had she gained a lot of weight since when she started, she was smoking too. Neither of which has anything to do with her career or really matters, it was just strange seeing someone who had gained a reputation for singing inspirational and religious songs engaging in vices like that. Perhaps the reason she hasn't joined the "Hollywood-ish Entertainment Industry" is because she isn't American. Not that you didn't know that, but just because I hadn't seen it mentioned. Finally, why the capital word NUDE at the end of the article? Seems a little out of place.

I have to agree. She has an absolutely stunning voice. Wonderful to listen to.

"Fortunately for us, she's not pop. The good music isn't mainstream."

That ticks me off. I too enjoy underground music and whatnot, but SOME MAINSTREAM MUSIC IS OK! You know, some mainstreamers used to be unknown, and once they get enough popularity to do something with it, their so called "fans" drop them. Pisses me off....

Then again, it's better to be pissed off than pissed on.

She's got a voice of an angel.

Is the second picture real or fake? I did not think Charlotte Church was a whore. Somebody check this out and let me know what you think. Thanks.

She has pushed her voice so much that by the time she hits her 30s she won't have a voice at all! I have never liked her, and I'm pretty sure I never will. I spent my childhood in my local church choir, and know what hard work it was. I'm pretty sure that she doesn't believe in what she sings, and if you've heard her interviews then you'll know she's not all there!! Well, good luck to her all the same. I don't know her, so.....

SUPERPSYCH............... DAH.......I REALLY THOUGHT THAT SINGERS BELIEVED THE WORDS IN THEIR SONGS THEY SING. AND I HAVE HEARD SOME OF HER INTERVIEWS AND SHE SEEMS JUST LIKE A TYPICAL TEEN GIRL TO ME. OF COURSE SHE MAY NOT HAVE THE VOICE 10 YEARS FROM NOW THAT SHE HAS TODAY. BUT THATS LIFE.

Indeed the voice of an angel; but she has to do pop to be truly appreciated--just like the good ole days of Dinah Shore and Judy Garland. Maybe should should do a revision of the Wizard of Oz.

Sorry, was just my humble opinion!
