main interface

Maybe I have not seen it, or maybe it's just not there, but I believe that both:
- net income for that turn
- overall population approval rating
should be shown in the main screen as is your treasury.
After all, both figures are of major importance in the game!

Agree completely , can't leave without aproval rating but income per turn - a must !

I would concur. The main screen doesn't seem as user-friendly to me as GalCiv1. I'll have to go back and look at GalCiv 1 again to figure out exactly why, but something is definitely not quite as nice.

This is beta3a... it has to Get more new features and has sorta collpased in a way and the UI is not complted just yet and its core mechanics is complete though so all the core mechanics is complete and the rest is under way about 60% of the game is not done yet...but it will expand quickly as we go into beta4 or somting...

GalCiv II main UI:

Displays Population / Treasury (and whether it's growing and shrinking) plus your current research project.

GalCiv I UI.  Only displayed treasury and population.

The new one shows more stuff.

I don't agree that net income should be part of the main UI.  Knowing whether it's going up or not (which it does through color -- greenif it's positive and going up and yellow if it's positive but going down).

Approval on the other hand might make some sense. Though again, this is somethin gyouc an quickly check out by looking at the domestic status just like in the first one.

Yes, colors indicating increasing or decreasing treasury would be great. Not sure if they are in though, since I haven't had a decreasing treasury much yet.

I would also like to see a meter that displays approval rating, but that could just be because of the bug where the individual planet morale display doesn't update unless you click on it again (and again...and again).

Slightly off topic, but is the UI going to change with youe alignment like GC1 did? I always liked the evil UI.

Back on topic, including the approval rating might not be a bad idea. It looks like it could fit in to the right of pop/treasury by cutting that box down a bit.
