President George Bush and Katrina

Who Caused Greater Damage

Thr hurricane that swept through Louisianna has caused widespread destruction. Apart from the loss of life and the disruption in the routine lives of people the thyphoon has raised certain vital questions? Why did President Bush take five full days of dithering before sending the National Guards? Is it because the Iraq war has stretched the forces so thin thast there are no troops left for HOMELAND defence. People have a right to know the answers. The relief that was offered is too little and has come too late. It is certain that the victims of the Hurricane are mostly poor and ethnic minorities and hence the tardy response from the Bushmen.

The Hurricane brought out the best and the worst in people. While incidents of looting and destruction of property have beeb widely reported, the fact is that many neighbourhoods pooled together their resources and tried to help each other in times of distress. This is really the Sprit of New Orleans at its best.

The exat number affected by this disaster is not known but the USA must get off its high horse and take help from all politically acceptable quarters. inclucding Cuba.

Stop being so dramatic. Voters did not make a mistake col. Keep using this tragedy to further your hatred for Bush and we will once again win in the next elections. If you think the country doesn't see this then you are mistaken.

"inclucding Cuba."

Do you have any information that Cuba has offered aid? Given that Cuba is an impoverished dictatorship that spends most of it's resources preventing it's own people from fleeing to freedom (in the United States) what could they possibly offer? To send a flotilla of refugees in tires?
