Question: Are the fighters actual fighters or just tiny-hull ships?

Anyone? Maybe I havent seen the whole tech tree I plyed liek 3 games last night just to get my feet wet in beta3 :/

I don't think there are any fighters in the game. A "Star Fighter" is just a Tiny hull ship. I'm not even sure why those are still in the game. Once you research your first weapon tech, you can design your own armed ships.
