How to include an image in a post or reply

What are the conventions to follow if you want to include a small image in a post? If I type a path to an image on my C:\ drive in the image dialog, I just get the broken image link placeholder. I am an Object Desktop subscriber, but not a WC subscriber, in case that is part of the equation (maybe non-subscribers can't upload images in a reply?).

Thanks,
Daiwa

You can not use a local image file, it must be on an internet server somewhere.

I will be doing a mini tutorial in the next few days.

In the mean time, you can use a free hosting site such as imageshack Link

- create an account
- upload your image(s)
- copy the direct link address listed for the uploaded image
- paste the direct link into the "Image" address field using the "Image" button in the "Add Your Comments:" section of the forums.
- I recommend keeping the image size at 640 pixels wide - or less - so people with smaller monitors do not end up with horizontal scroll bars when viewing.

Note - with Image Shack, the first time you upload an image, it will have a black bar with the pixel dimensions displayed. Just click the option to remove black bar, and re-upload the image to be able to post an image without the black bar.

FYI - if you subscribe to WC, you are entitled to create a personal page, which also includes a photo album where you can upload and link to.

I hope this helps.
