Politicians waste tax-payer money on Illegal alien's needs

Despite desires of local citizens, and despite U.S. immigration law

Gideon posted an excellent article in the last few days: Maintaining Poverty to Maintain One's Business. Insightful stuff indeed. It includes several points about the way that some politicians utterly waste the tax money that they are trusted to use on behalf of the citizens that employ them. Too bad that several D.C. area politicians seem to be absolutely oblivious to the citizens desires in the same areas. Worse yet, the politicians in question in the D.C. area are also blatantly, and flagrantly ignoring U.S. immigration law as they take tax money and spend it to help people that are, in many, many cases, in the country illegally.

For example: (from the Washington Times, but same information can be found at Washington Post for those that prefer a source more from the left) Herndon OKs day-laborer center. Here's the Washington Post link as a bonus: Herndon Approves Day Labor Center --
Immigration Called 'Out of Our Control'
.

Then there was the editorial/commentary/article in the Washington Times in the last few days about Montgomery County Maryland chief executive Douglas Duncan's promises to immigrants. See this article: Duncan urges aid for illegals.

The common thread in these instances is that clearly the politicians have decided that it is much more important to take the tax money from their constituents (and/or from the Federal government or state government above them) and spend it on the needs of people that are in the country illegally. Instead of spending the money on enforcing immigration policy, these politicians would rather help the illegals gather at camps where they can be helped to find jobs. In many cases, jobs that pay cash money, untraced, with little or no benefits. Employed by people that cheat and cheap out on the insurance that they are supposed to carry (do a search on that issue on your own, or see sources like 60 Minutes, Prime Time Live or others that have done bleeding heart stories on people that have ruined their lives with near fatal injuries while working without insurance, even if they were promised (by law, and by the employer's verbal flappings) that they would be covered. And yet, instead of doing as New Mexico Governor (apparently, having woken up to the problem in a big way) Bill Richardson is now doing and helping to prevent the influx of illegal aliens, these D.C. area politicians are doing everything they can to encourage illegals to come on down to the area and take the jobs that await them.

All of these politicians deserve to be impeached. Voted completely out of office, and sent to jail for conspiring to circumvent the laws of the United States. Will that happen? Sadly, probably not. But it definitely should.

A slight update on this article. It seems that the Republican Governor of the state of Maryland is more than happy to take his potential rival to task for his stance on this issue. See article here (as an example): Ehrlich says Duncan wrong on illegal aliens.
