No beta release since June.

What is happening.

My Total gaming.net subscription entitles me to all beta releases of GCII. My Stardock Cental has not detected a relase since early June. What is going on ?? It sure seems strange.

I don't think there has been an update for GC2 since June. I guess they're waiting to release one very big update I think.

There was no scheduled releases between the last build of beta2 and beta3. Beta3 is tentatively scheduled for the end of August as far as I know. Personally I suspect it will be the begining of June. Stardock have taken the time to fix the deep rooted crash bugs in beta2 and to put in most of the core features that were missing.

According to the beta schedule beta3 is pretty close to a fully equiped build of the game where the real balancing kicks off and it becomes much more of a playable game. By the sound of things it will be pretty huge step forward.

As Ubleb said, beta 2 is over, which is why there haven't been any updates since June.   Beta 3 is coming up soon, however. (Incidentally, TotalGaming.net memberships no longer automatically entitle people to betas.)

I got all the betas and I believe they said so when they launched TGN Phase 2.
As for the betas, this thread:

says what they're doing now.

The FAQ we wrote up should clear things up about TotalGaming.net's changes - link.

As I said, as part of the change to Phase 2 we have ended the policy of automatically offering betas to members. So if you were a new TGN member and wanted access to the GalCiv II beta, you would need to first pre-order the game.
