Dem.Undgrnd Supports Animal Slavery = People Slavery

Wowch!

In a stunningly moronic display of moral equivalency the Democratic Underground Lefties can't even agree that human slavery is worse than eating animals! I wish I was making this up but here is a little quotey quote for you:

Just so, humans who define themselves by religion or culture or nationality or skin color think that their suffering can never be compared, no matter how factually, with any other human or animal's suffering. To do so makes them feel belittled, reduced. But perhaps that's just our primitive biology crying out to protect and save our own kind, the more narrowly defined the better, and the rest be damned. I reject that. Or I try to. Only supremacism makes us think that "our kind," our narrow view of ourselves as Protestants, Muslims, white, black, a woman, a man, a human being, is more important than the rest. But a broader definition of ourselves is simply that we are all animals.

Note that this yahoo actually equates rascism with feeling superior to animals here. I thought that surely there would be a large backlash of common sense from the rest of the DU feverswampers but not to be... Many of them agreed with the poster and PETA that using animals for anything is morally equivalent to enslaving human beings and none of them could really bring themselves to condemn it (well excpet a few Freepers who lurk there to piss off the DU).

One more quotage:

If it offends people so greatly to be compared to other sentient beings who feel pain and suffer just as humans do... well, I think they are getting right to the heart of the matter.

Knock knock puddinheads... this is why you keep losing...

mmmm, sentient beings. The other white meat.

Let them take it up with the animals that will willingly eat me. Then, when we can agree not to eat me, I'll contemplate agreeing not to eat them.

Oh, Good Lord.

Aren't you glad you're now a civilian and have even more time to discover stuff like this exists in the world?

You know that dark little meat-like nub you occasionally find in some chicken pieces? It always looks like some overdone leftover, and you hope in you heart of hearts it's some residual gizzard that didn't get scraped out with the rest of the innards, but really you know it is something you would never eat and should actually run screaming from the table and flush on sight? Yeah that. That's what they would taste like.

Interesting picture.  Especially since I just equated the loony loopy luddite left as friends of Bin Laden on another article.

The last line of your first quotey quote really reveals all:

"But a broader definition of ourselves is simply that we are all animals."

Of course if humans really WERE just animals they might have a point. But humans are created in the image of the Creator, which makes all the difference.

I love how you guys take a few idiots opinions over at DU, and try to portray every dem like that. That's like me posting some of the ultra-rightie fascist drivel and saying every one of you feels the same way.

Pretty lame.

Arquonzo? Where's your proof? Ohhhh that's right! You have none!

Pretty lame.

The actual point here guy is that these are the folks that have hijacked your party. The majority of the Democratic party are moderates but they are not the ones doing the fundraising, organizing the rallies, and shrieking to the press... Moderates stay home so your party panders to these sorts of interests. Thats why the party keeps on losing ground. Not healthy. I have a more complete response here.

Debate the religious aspect of this on another thread though... thank you.

Oh that's right, they're busy recruiting more people to join this sort of insanity, protesting movies, and shaking down corporations.

Along with Elizabeth Edwards, a member of du.org?

You know PETA's new ad equates animal suffering with both the Holocaust and Slavery, right? And as usual, the sheep at DU blindly bleat their agreement, totally trivializing the suffering of slaves and holocaust victims.

Where's Jesse Jackson and the ADL when you need 'em?

Ingrid Newkirk consistently finds new and amusing ways to inadvertently offend people on her quest to make us all give up our steaks and pork chops. I had hoped that she'd have learned from the chicken holocaust debacle, but that's apparently not the case.

PETA are the looney left are good bedfellows. They both don't seem to care how obscene or offensive their tactics are...they'll utilize ANY situation to get their 'message' across.

I would have thought that this would have been right up Al Sharpton's alley....in fact, I'm surprised he hasn't already embedded himself in the midst of this.

now....what about the wasps that they have evicted out of their nest (read: home) with chemical weapons? And what about the mosquitos that they have killed? And the flies? ants? cockroaches?

Shouldn't all these poor, helpless innocent animals get the right to an attorney and have their case in court?

He probably would be if it came from a right leaning organization. It may be a case of "Don't be in the well you drink from."

Who knows?
