transparent menus & firefox

not sure if anyone has mentioned this ever, but, i noticed that on my computer at least, the right-click menus don't have the transparency i set for them in windowfx. so far only app i noticed that makes my menu completely non-transparent is firefox, thunderbird - perhaps due to they can have themes applied to themselves also??

Well, Firefox uses it's own themes, and is completley seperate from Windows as far as menus go. It's normal for them not to be transparent.

You would have to download an Extension for firefox / thunderbird to change the right-click menus. I'm using an extension called Cute Menus - gives you icons on all right-click menus

I've noticed the same thing. I would imagine it does have to do with the firefox interface itself. Perhaps we'll get a firefox upgrade at some point...

Firefox doesn't really use native elements.

You know, Firefox lets your OS skin the browser, but doesn't use the normal OS right-click menus for some reason.

The strange thing is, though, it applies the regular shadows in Windows XP to them, but it cannot make the menus transparent nor can WindowFX add its own shadows to it! If it applied XP's shadows to the menus, wouldn't you think WindowFX could? Just like any other menu?

Anyways, I'm getting fed-up with it so I made a post in the Firefox support forums asking if there's any way to change the menus. You can check up on my progress, or even better if you added your comments to the thread as well! Here it is:http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2339754#2339754">Link
