Equating Islam with Terrorist may cost host his job

Michael Graham on AM630 WMAL

It looks like the spat over Michael Graham's comments equating Islam with Terrorism may wind up costing him his job.

There's news at http://www.dcrtv.com, and also here: http://www.michaelgraham.com/

Graham has not received any information on a potential return to work date, and believes he very well may lose his job as Disney owned WMAL tries to make peace with CAIR and other Islamic organizations -- many of which can't for the life of themselves condemn terrorism or the terrorists that have "hi-jacked" their religion, but can take up arms incredibly quickly if someone starts pointing out "facts" about their religion.

Stay tuned to the above sites (one linked, the other can be hit easily enough) for more info on the situation.

Good!  Then maybe we can get him back!  DC is too stupid to have him anyway.

I differ, in the same way I differ with people around here that spew nastiness about "Christianity". Blaming Islam for terrorism is like blaming Christianity for the Iraq war.

Now, that said, there are people who do espouse a hateful, violent form of Islam, and I do think it is a 'religious' problem from the standpoint that the people who step on to busses in Israel believe that they are doing a religious duty.

But, I can't be a hypocrite and condemn people who call Christians "abortion clinic bombing fascists' and then blame Islam as a whole for terrorism. I think there are a lot of problems in Islam, and that it is alot more widespread than the PC folks want to admit.

It won't, though, serve our purposes to make an argument that is easily brushed aside as being bigoted or ignorant. It does the bad parts of Islam a service when people make statements like Graham made. The knee-jerk reaction is to brush it off, and that gives those parts of Islam that need to be addressed a free ride.

this kind of crap is what happens in a politically correct enviorment, appeasement seems to be much more important that the unvarnished truth.

The trouble is, "“We are at war with a terrorist organization named Islam.”" ISN'T the unvarnished truth.

Worse, the next time you or I try to make a point about valid connections between religion and terrorism, we get brushed off because of his behavior. I'm not saying he should be fired, but damn, there's no reason to justify a moronic statment, especially when you know it torpedos your own ability to make related points in debate.

It's amazing that our enemy has become protected in our own country. Better start thinking about what color your prayer rugs will be.
