i have a problem making bootskins. Can you help?

i can't make a good bootskin cause the progress bar is usually a problem. i have recently leraned that when you make a bootskin, the progress bar has to have the same colors as the bootskin. i did that with my skin (Windows Vista blue) but it still didn't work. can somebody please tell me how to make a correct bootskin.

i feel bad for the people who think that my bootskins are very good but when they download them, they notice a problem.

Bash has to be the exact same colors, open screen image ( the 16 color image ) in paint. Pick colors from image and paint the 22x9 prog bar on the screen image. When you have it the way you want it Edit, copy to, replace prog bar in folder for skin you are working on. Close paint, no to save changes. Open bootskin apply the one you change prog bar for, reboot computer to test.

thanx! i didn't know that you had to select copy to instead of copy. And does the Progress bar have to be 22x9?

This is the proper size. Just noticed forgot to say to rectangle select the 22x9 for progress bar then copy to.

From me to you on July 23/2005, which you did see as you responded:Open screen image in paint, make a 22x9 image for prog bar picking colors from image. When have the way you want, rectangle select the 22x9, Edit, copy to, replace prog bar that is in folder.
Exactly the same as I have let you know again, which is what about the fourth or fifth time now.

I will give you credit for one thing Bash, it takes guts to admit in the forums that you need help after already submitting 24 bootskins.

You need Photoshop to make the best Bootskins.
First thing you must know is each image must be a 4-Bit Bitmap (As in Quality, not Colours)
First, after converting your 640x480 background to 16 Adaptive Colours save the colour table somwhere.
Next, create a 22x9 blank document and place you image on it. Then goto Mode and convert it to the 16 colours again. And there is a button to import from colour table. Import your saved Colour table and apply it to the loader.
Save both images as a 4-Bit Bitmap, put them in a folder and Copy someone elses Bootskin.ini, open it in notepad and the Code is fairly recognisable. Change the necessary text and open in Bootskin exe. Then find you're bootskin, and Click File > Export to bootskin, the upload it here.
Presto,
I hope my Input helped
