Article/Forum system update

In an effort to fix some of the database issues we have been experiencing we have just updated our systems in the way the forums and article posts are handled in the database.  Everything works the same way from your perspective but the way we are storing and fetching the data has been changed.  Because of the change it is possible there may be a few problems that occur.  So if you have any problems with article/forum posts please let us know here.

T-Man,

Just out of curiosity, are we supposed to see all comments that are posted both here and via SD forums reflected in the counts here at WC?

I have seen a number of instances where comment counts are either incorrect, or where some comments posted on the SD forum (at least I assume that is the origination of the comment) are not displayed here.

Is this a matter of a non-subscriber posting a comment?

Thanks for any clarification.

The little envelops are still not working correctly. They still say there are new responses to a thread when in fact there are none. Or they say I've already read a thread when in fact I have not. Come to think about it this has been a problem for me ever since this site went online. Maybe it's just me who is having these problems.

/me is testing if this command is working yet
Hmmm... The titlebar has no mention of Vista and also it shows the post number when viewing a post.

forum section seems to be slower than the rest of the site. Getting error messeges and timeouts. Personal Pages are going slow as well ....

I don't know if you want to know about this here, but for 30 minutes this morning all I got when trying to get to the site was "Invalid Host Name" Then when I finally got to the site, it took 20 minutes for it to download, but was incomplete when it finally did.
Windows XP home
2.6GHz Pentium 4
1 gig Ram
5mbps cable connection

I got the same as clwoods (in Firefox)
In IE, it was 400 bad request.

Additionally, my WC site was returning a 'connection refused'

Yes, we had a bit of downtime this morning

There is delay for when one systems data gets updated from the main server.  That delay is normally up to 15 minutes but do to all the shuffling around we have been doing lately the scripts that sync the data have either been disabled or in need of repair.  Hopefully the comment counts are working better and should continue to be more accurate as time goes on.

Thanks, T-Man.

For the record, I have seen very few issues using IE, and what I have seen has been fairly short lived.

Great work on a huge job to you and the crew.
