Moderators do your job...

i think it's strange to see that a skin submitted a couple days later then another getting moderated sooner...
there prolly r different moderators for different sections, but to be honest, i don't care...it's not an excuse...
skins should be moderated by date, no matter the section...ok, that's it...thx

Ozzy....I was not being personal. Constant whinging has a cause, often it's far removed from the topic at hand, so the suggestion was to look at yourself before finding fault in others. Trust, respect and co-operation is a mutual thing....give and you're more likely to receive.

In part, true, money makes money....but as was pointed out to you, there's just not enough here, and the challenge was put to you to either put up or provide something concrete to raise it. Tis easy to sit on the other side of the fence and find fault...

As for volunteers...would you do it? Investment? And better volunteers? You're very unlikely to find a better, more dedicated group than the ones we have already.

certainly not my intention to drain moral....
what exactly is going to be changed ??

It's evolving as it goes.  I'm not sure exactly of the final form everything will take, so I can't say this thing will happen or that one will.  The site is changed a lot from when they started, and it will change some more before they are done.

i think given a chance there are others....
me ? i don't think i would qualify...though i have the time....
anyway, i appreciate every minute the volunteers spent at WC, i'm just saying if they can't handle all the work there should be more volunteers to make it run smooth...
as the site grow, so do the issues but i get the feeling the amount of admins/moderators aren't growing....
as for money, maybe stardock can help out again...with a good plan WC could make more money and in time this could even save money for stardock since they partially pick up the bill...but not sure about that one though...

i'm actually still waiting for the different skins for the site, just like on the old one...but that's prolly the least important...

Hey -OZZY-,

Thanks for posting your concerns. We appreciate having the opportunity to grow and improve our services for our paying customers, such as your self. And we truly thank you for supporting the community and our site. As you might have imagined, we are in the process of enhancing features and improve reliability of the site. At the moment, we are focusing more of our immediate resources on solving the recent server issues. Sorry in advance for any trouble you've experienced.

As far as moderating, this is limited to human intervention and deliberation. There isn't a whole lot that can be done in this area, as this is based on many factors that are beyond the control of any one person. KarmaGirl mentioned some of those factors earlier and I'll spare everyone from beating a dead horse.

As a full time employee of Stardock, I know how much work & money is put into WinCustomize. Believe me when I say that quite a lot of time and money is poured into WinCustomize. Unfortunately, I'm just one of only a few people that work on all of Stardock's websites and there are dozens of sites to contend with! We're kept quite busy. LOL If I were to look at WinCustomize from a business point of view, I would think Stardock to be crazy for dumping so many resources in to a website that doesn't come even close to turning a profit. Yet I see the passion and commitment that Stardock has to the community and it astounds me.

I do see where you're coming from in regard to getting more help and volunteers. One of the things that we strive to do here is make this site one that can be operated more so by volunteers. As it stands, some critical systems are not quite in place yet to support more community assistance, but they will be. They just take time to develop.

With that said, thank you for posting your concerns. It's to be commended that you're willing to assist us and the community as well with your time. You never know, we might be contacting you for a volunteer position. Keep up the great work as well!

the fact of the matter, ozzy, is that if you have been around here long enough (and not just on the the wc site) and talked to the people who actually run and administer the site, you would have a far better understanding of what goes on 'behind the scenes'. threads such as this one, and others within the same vein, really are not needed and do nothing but cause angst among and between menbers. us older folks, both in age and membership, have seen so many threads like this that each and every one seems senseless. and it's like i tell my kinds on occasion, i wish i could know as much now as i thought i did when i was 15 - 25. that's not meant as an insult. it's just the truth.

there's probably a good reason for threads like this to keep appearing then eh...!?
guess i wasn't to far off...seems they do need more volunteers

anyway, dark-star...finally someone with a positive look at "criticism" ...if u can call it that...much like the skinners around here like to get comments on their work positive or negative, it helps them...this isn't any different...
i believe stardock is putting a lot of money in WC but in return they get advertisement and customers...so they prolly get some of it back...maybe u should work together even more...
i got a phonecall, and completely forgot where i was going, let's just leave it at this then...
