IconX 1.10

IconX was updated to 1.10 today.

This version fixes the spacing problems I had with the last few versions.

It also seems to be saving icon positions, at least in my one small test.

However, one thing I thought was fixed in previous versions (that I couldn't use because of the spacing issue), was when you double-click on an icon, it leaves it zoomed. Same with right-clicking the trash can to empty it.

You have to click somewhere on the desktop to get them to zoom back out to normal.

And if you empty the trash can without first clicking on the desktop to return it to normal size, it leaves part of the zoomed icon on the desktop when it's done.

Was that not fixed at one time?

Iconx and DEsktopX seems to live fine now together unlike before where killing DX also killed Iconx

But IconX is still not compatible with the wallpaper changer capability of Stardock Virtual Desktop manager

I hope that this is the correct place to raise the following. Now that IconX has separated from DesktopX, is there any way to get IconX to load via MCP SmartStartup rather than put it in the Startup Group as I have done at present?

Why ??

It is starting fine like this.

If devs could fix Iconpackager and Virtual Desktop incompatibilities from Iconx, it would be a very fine addition to Object Desktop.

Not for me. Double click an icon or right click recycle and empty = all go back down on their own.

getting iconX compatible with wallpaper switching would rule. What would be even cooler is somehow getting it to run in explorer windows, so all your icons can do cool scaling deal things.

Interesting. I wonder why it doesn't work here? Might have to try another uninstall/install.

I have no problem here with WallMaster Pro, and never had any problems with Wallpaper Changer, when I was using that.

Think I will try another uninstall/re-install and see if it doesn't clear up the problem with blank icons. Is anyone else having this problem (specifically with the briefcase icon)?

Mebion...
Still haven't found an option to run at startup like before.

Tarkus...
maybe the zooming and sticking has to do with the options selected for each state?

I'm using the Huge theme. I haven't made any manual adjustments.

Huge. I'll give it a go later - got some stuff running right now.

Tarkus:
Running Huge - mouse over, double click - folder/recycle opens - icon drops back down. - mouse over, right click & open - icon drops back down / recycle - right click, empty, icon drops down

man, not a lot of room left on my little monitor

Thanks for testing, Bichur.

What version are you using? I did the uninstall/install thing a couple times. I tried updating to 1.10.002 (just noticed it), and it crashes immediately every time. Had to go back to 1.10.001, which still has the zoom problems.

BTW, after I empty the trash can, it does update to an unzoomed empty state, but it leaves remnants of the zoomed full state behind, since it never actually unzooms that version.

He was talking about the wallpaper switching capability of SD Virtual Desktop, I think.

As for now, IconX is the least compatible component of ObjectDesktop, I think.

Not compatible with wallpaper switching of VD.

Not 100% compatible with Iconpackager (sometimes icons are not the same in the Explorer and with IconX on the Desktop).

Anyway, I love that program. I used to have Avedesk. This is doing as much eye candy with much less overhead. And the "huge" transitions are superb.

Tied in with this thread is the following scenario. DTX loads at the beginning & later disappears from the tray to be followed by IX and then DTX - most strange!

From what I understand, they used to be fully integrated & are now separate programs. I thinking maybe either put it back the way it was or take another whack at the umbilical cord.

Yes, I'm updating through SDC.

I'm wondering if one of my files on the desktop is causing the latest version to crash. It shows the trashcan and then immediately crashes. I thought it might be some pics on the desktop, but removing them didn't help. I haven't gotten around to moving my other stuff, to see if that would help.
