Is Beta II still open and how quickly will i get in it after pre-ordering.

It's July 6th and i want to know if the beta is still open for download and/or till what date it will be open. Secondly I would like to know how quickly you can get to the beta after preordering. Is it like preorder/wait 2mins/download the beta? or is it more like preorder/wait a few days/download the beta? Thank yo for you help.

Access to the beta is now closed to standalone GalCiv 2 orders. The only way to get access now is to purchase the game via TotalGaming.net (i.e., pre-order a TotalGaming membership so that when we launch the service publically next week you'll be able to spend Tokens on GC2 and get the beta also.).

I'm sorry but i'm a bit confused about your response. What does "standalone orders" mean? Does this mean that if i pre order the game from the website now i can't get into the beta? And also, do you have to pre-order the TotalGaming membership? (i'm a bit low on money), because i want to get in, in a few weeks and then be able to get into the beta.

Could you just explain in simple terms .

I talked to a freind and figured out the standalone part but now i'd like to know if you could get TotalGaming membership at the end of July (say on the 31st), get Galctiv Civ 2 and get into August Beta III, can you do that?

I'd also like to know something else (yes i know i have a lot of questions ), in the post about TotalGaming it says that people who were already subsribed get access to the games before June for free, is this the same for people who register now?

I fear not. You will need to spend 5 tokens (a TGN subscription is 70$ = 10 token) to have the final game.
But I may be wrong.

I'm talking about the games such as the original Galactic Civilization but youre probably right anyway, also, could someone plz answer my question (post 3), about wether i can get a TotalGaming account at the end of July and then get into Beta 3 in August

as a far as I'm aware, a TG sub give you automatic access to the GC2 beta. the only cut-off for access to the beta is for people who preorder GC2 only. So, yes, if you subscribe to TG at the end of July, you will get access to the beta in 'fall'

Unless I've misunderstood something, you can pre-order the game now and get Beta 3 in August. It's only Beta 2 that's closed to new people.

Let me see if I can clear this up (sorry for being confusing. ):

Beta 2 of GalCiv II is now closed if you preorder GalCiv 2 alone. If you become a TotalGaming.net member (launching next week to new customers), you may gain access to Beta 2 by preordering GalCiv 2 through your TG.net membership (5 Tokens).

No decision has been made yet on who will have access to Beta 3 this Fall. I'll see if we can get this point cleared up for everyone. Being a TotalGaming.net member alone no longer grants you the ability to take part in Betas automatically.

If you become a TotalGaming.net member now, you do not get access to the old games. You will get 10 Tokens that you can use to purchase any of the available titles.

Then i'm not getting TotalGaming because the only reason i would get it is because i really want to get into the beta and if theres no gurantees it's like gambling and i'm not going to gamble with my money especially the big amount neccesary for the subscription.

I've just confirmed that anyone who has access to Beta 2 will also get access to Beta 3. So if you preorder GalCiv II through a new TotalGaming membership, you'll get access to both.
