Distance of Star-Systems

I look in the screenshots and starsystems are so close to eachother, how about some distance, not to little, not to much but.

Realism wise, you could make every planet in a star-system on the axis, they all revolve together, they all are between eachother, you know what I mean.

Tough one to balance I think, the further apart colonies are the longer it takes to move ships around, and the fewer systems you can fit on to the same size map. Ship speed is the main issue I think, otherwise it weill take ages to get anywhere if you put the stars too far apart. I have had the same thought myself though, maybe they should be a little more spaced out than they are at the moment.

Take a look at the journals section for an interesting article about scaling if you havent already.

You cant really space them out because that changes the game. if stars are to far apart, you cnat colonize other worlds without andvanced propulsion technology which will be difficult to get beacuse you only have a few colonies because the other planets are to far away. but i would like to see the planets revolove and each planet to be on its own orbit.
