Hesitation
'Nudda poem

Night,
Warm,
The scent of lilac heavy in the air.
Fireflies twinkle like embers.
My heart sags heavily,
My thoughts wander to what could be.
Sadly, I toil in my imagination,
Not ready to confront what torments me.
Such anxiety I feel,
When it comes to this,
I’m hesitant,
And it’s hard to handle it.
Some things are better left unsaid,
But these I feel should not be.
I try so hard,
Yet the courage evades me.
Maybe someday,
Maybe I can say what I feel.
‘Till then,
I torture myself,
Every night I lie awake,
And wonder,
Wonder what would happen,
If only I could find the words.
It’s not so easy,
For me to say this,
If only I wasn’t a coward,
If only I had more confidence.
