Making Docks without instances of an icon on each dock made

Hopefully my last questions of the day....
Im making several docks, I can do this no problem
The problem is that when I load something like MSN Messenger for instance, it will appear on both docks...
Is there a way of keeping one instance of the icon, and only to the dock it was originally assigned to.
Eventually, I would like to make separate docks for different themes i.e. one for games, one for apps, internet etc.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received
