Permanent Folders View?

hey, i was wondering if anyone knew how to make explorer permanently leave the folders view on ( the sidebar where it shows all the roots and subdirectories as you open them in explorer ). I can press the folders button to activate it but everytime i close the window it goes back to normal the next time i open it. does anyone know how to keep it on so i don't have to keep pressing the 'folders' button? Please reply, thanks

I don't think you can, even when set to use classic folders in folder options the sidebar does not show, have to hit folders button to have it show up. There are a few skins for WindowBlinds that have shell across top of page, so can have sidebar and tasks both at same time. This is one example https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4507&LibID=1

How are you opening Explorer? I always open it with Win-E, and it always opens in Folders View.

I think initially I had to get it set up the way I wanted it, and then I went to Tools > Folder Options > View > Apply to All Folders.

About the only time I don't see Folders View is when I open a ZIP file and it opens in a new window (sometimes it opens in the same window and sometimes not ).
