ATLANTA - Former President Carter on Tuesday called for the United States to shut down the Guantanamo Bay prison to demonstrate its commitment to human rights.
"The U.S. continues to suffer terrible embarrassment and a blow to our reputation ... because of reports concerning abuses of prisoners in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo," Carter said after a two-day human rights conference at his Atlanta center.

I almost highlighted the part that said: The U.S. continues to suffer terrible embarrassment and a blow to our reputation
and added my editorial comment that said: ... with every word that Jimmy Carter utters

Ooops, there, I just did, didn't I??

Honestly, Carter should just shut up already. He was a complete embarrassment as a President, and were it not for a bunch of wussie world leaders and his friends at places like Amnesty International, he'd still be considered a total buffoon.

Shut it Jimmy! Shut it. Be glad you aren't in Gitmo for the crimes against the U.S. economy you commited during your Presidency. As badly as you F-ed this country, you'd still be serving out the life sentence there if some people had their wish....

If Nixon said this, they probably would listen to him, just like they listened to him in 92, when he schooled both Clinton and Bush about Russia.

Carter is irrelevant, nobody listens to him, and nobody will ever listen to him.

Isn't the terrorists themselves the one's reporting abuses?

Carter, the man credited with letting islamic terrorism start in the first place.

You forgot LIberal Rule #3:  Failure means a promotion in stature.  The more you fail, the more rise in stature on the left.  Since Carter failed at virtually everything he did, he is the grandaddy of the liberals now.
