I wanna be independent, so you must help me
Someone else must do my work here and rebut all responses

I don't want to pick on other Joe Users, and really don't want to start a fight here, but something that Dabe wrote in response to Gideon's excellent article: Time to Put an End to Food Stamps! inspires serious comment. Unfortunately though, I don't want to be held responsible for the required comment.
Read on for a second, and perhaps you'll see why, and even be inspired to do the job for me.

One of the reasons he does not live with me is because he really wants to be independent and wants to maintain his autonomy. I completely support him in this, and hope, like hope itself that he'll overcom his fears. If that means that he needs food stamps for a while, and he's only been getting them for about one year, then so be it. This is exactly what food stamps should do. So please, stop judging so harshly. We are trying to work it out. He is trying to work it out.
So, what this oxymoronic, or ironic, or whatever the word should be (sorry, not my job to look it up, that will be job of society as a whole, so some tax-payer funded person must do the work and find the right word to substitute here if necessary, since I too want to be independent, even if it means relying on society to give me the means on everyone else's dime), statement is saying is that it's ok to live off society and take tax-payer money, but it's not ok to live at home where Mommy and Daddy may impose some rules, limits, or may do things that invade up the privacy of the individual or may lose privacy to the individual??!

Now, I'm not gonna let Dabe off on this one. If Dabe wants to reply, then Dabe must reply completely in support of the cold, heartless, mindless, conservative form and must absolutely defend the position that her statement above is oxymoronic, ironic, stupid or whatever other word the tax-payer funded wordsmith would insert.
Huh?!?! What do you mean, I get to impose rules on Dabe if she replies?! Yup. You see, I have the space, so my rules apply. Even if I'm not paying for the space, I'm gonna use liberal logic which insists that for the good of society as a whole, society will take care of those that need help, and I need help here. Even if the reason I need help is because I'm lazy, or just made a stupid decision about my choice of timing (for moving out of the house, or for replying to this statement, or whatever), or if I simply want to choose to be independent of this thread for a while and rely on someone else to do my work for me.
You see, this is the big fallacy of liberalism, socialism, and communism. You fine liberals, socialists, and communists just take away the big motivators for working hard -- instead, you leave excuses to fall victim to another great motivator that Gideon and others hit upon so well in their replies in Gid's fine thread: L A Z I N E S S.
I've said before (elsewhere and here) that Greed and Laziness are huge motivators for people. People are naturally lazy. Yet as a counter, they are also naturally greedy. It's part of the balance of life. There's 7 deadly sins, and much like the old art wheel from K-12, and it's complimentary colors, there's a balance to almost all of these "sins".
The problem is that liberal's don't take into account the old laws that for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. They fail to see the that the programs they implement and desire just enable people to be lazy and reliant upon them for more programs. Or, perhaps, in an X-files conspiracy sort of way, they don't fail to see it at all -- it's what they really want. They want to make others dependent upon them, to cause them to be indebted to them, so that they'll continue to vote for them so they can continue to benefit from them.
Either way, all of the cold heartless responses to this thread must come from the traditional liberals. Liberal responses from those traditional sources must be ignored.
Conservatives may feel free to take advantage of this Sadie Hawkin's style reversal of fortunes, and may feel free to demand more and bigger programs, and cry for support of these great government giveaways. Cry for the government to play Robin Hood and then demand that a liberal attack your position. After all, it's their social responsibility to take care of your needs so you too can be independent.
Read on for a second, and perhaps you'll see why, and even be inspired to do the job for me.
