You said that you came back from Vietnam and the LIberals gave you a hard time, right? What I really am curious about: Do you view your actions in Vietnam as part of a larger solution to the worlds problems?

no I view my service to my country as the right thing to do, a country that took my immigrant parents in a country that gave my father the american dream by hard work, My father told me, "your country calls you, YOU answer"

Being a liberal doesn't mean pot brownies and a mass of complaints. It's about progressive thinking, unlike conservatives who are mainly about tradition. I am not for abortion, I am for the choice to have one or not. I believe that America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, therefore everyone should be given equal rights. Rights should not be taken away. I am a liberal.

Wow, Aeryck. That's one of the most asinine things I've read here on JU. Soldiers are called to trust their leaders to make appropriate use of their service. They do not make policy decisions; Soldiers follow orders. Our military victory and the safety of our nation depends on this.

Men like Moderateman have answered the call to sacrifice and experience great loss, torment, and sorrow for the good of our nation (as determined by our leaders). His service during Vietnam is a beautiful example of selflessness, endurance, patriotism, and duty, and regardless of yours or anyone's view of the Vietnam war, his sacrifice is to be honored.
