Is abortion really murder?

Every day in this country kids are beaten and ill-treated by parents who just don't care. There are kids who grow up in this country and never really know the joys of life but only the hardships. I am not saying that abortion is a good thing, or even the right. I for one would like America to come to their senses and not use abortion for a birth-control method but only in times where it is truly neccessary (such as if a baby will die, or can not be done financially). But this is something that America is just no going to do. Do you really want children growing up with parents who do not love them or care for them, I do not know what I would do if my parents had emotionally abonded me. Just in Ohio there are over 6,000 children waiting to be adopted, now does adoption seem like the perfect solution to your problem. Abortion is not being used to deliberitaly kill babies, for the argument that conservitaves are making shouldn't it be illegal to use a condom or go on the pill. It is essentially the same thing in noy allowing a baby to be born. But these people who get abortions are not at all bad or unloving people, they just can't support a child. It would be worse for us as a society to allow these children to grow up in an area where they are unloved or ill-treated, or even just cannot be financially supporrted then to allow these operations to go on because an unproven god says that they shoud be kept alive. Abortion is a way to help this by not allowing these children to grow up in hell.

Another thing if you don't support abortion DON'T GET THEM, nobody is forcing people to not get abortions and to essentially "destroy" a life, but the argument against it is. It's really easy to be against abortion when your 80 and haven't had a fuckin erection is fifteen years but when your 18 coming home from prom and can't support a kid it's a little different. Abortion is something that should be allowed but not always supported like it is. I know that i dont need a kid and wouldn't want one, but accidents happen, abortion is something that is needed for America!

So your point is that it isn't murder, it is a mercy killing? Why stop with a fetus, then? Why should all those kids be suffering. According to the standard of 'suffering' you and others set in these discussions, most of our greatest minds throughout history would have been aborted.

If you'd take the time to read about the lives of people like Beethoven, or Poe, or any number of artists and thinkers who were raised in your so-called 'hell', you'd see that this mercy killing you espouse robs the world of much more than you'd like to admit. Me, personally, I don't think I have the right to decide whether a child is going to be beneficial to society, no matter what circumstances he or she is born in.

You ignore the fact that while there a lot of older kids who need homes, people wanting to adopt infants are often forced to go to other nations to do so. The characterization that a newborn in the US is just going to go to the workhouse is gravely dishonest. Sure, people prefer not to adopt older kids, but women don't immediately give birth to older kids.

All that this is doing is proving my point.

I don't think I have the right to decide whether a child is going to be beneficial to society, no matter what circumstances he or she is born in

nobody should have the right to decide whats best for a child except for their parents, and by eliminating abortion you are making the decision for them. Maybe you should do some research on how many children in this country commit suicide because thery are not loved and cared for.

So, by all means, lets pretend we can tell the future and kill them before they have a chance to decide for themselves. What a sick attitude to discount the possibilities of human existance just because you are too unimaginitive or uneducated to see them.

The prophetic certainty of some guy on a blog pales in comparison to very real people throughout history who have overcome their upbringing and become irreplacable members of the human race. You, now, would look at them and say, "had it been up to me, you'd have never been born."

Not even a parent has the right to murder a child because they think it is 'best for them'. These are the same watered-down excuses they use every time they want to purge some unwanted part of humanity. The only difference is you can't stand the idea of doing it face-to-face.
