My Unequivacal Position

I feel that abortion should be the exclusive choice of the woman. Period. Regardless of the circumstances in which she got pregnant, be it rape or otherwise, it is her exclusive choice. No one here, not dr. confederacy or just john or guy or marcie or anyone should have the right to judge others' deeds and misfortunes. If you do not believe that abortion is acceptable, THEN DON'T FUCKING HAVE ONE.

I feel that stem cell research should be funded, at least in part, by the government. The public at large, rich and poor, insured and uninsured, would benefit from any cures and treatments derived from the research. If you're so santimonious about the killing of a few cells, even though they would be destroyed anyway, and even if they weren't, THEN DON'T FUCKING USE THE TREATMENTS. JUST DROP THE FUCK DEAD FOR ALL I CARE.

This is my unequivacal position on the issues. I'm not asking anyone to partake who does not wish to partake of anything. I'm not forcing my position onto anyone. BUT............

......... I, IN NO WAY, WANT YOU TO DICTATE WHAT HAPPENS TO MY KIDS LIVES, OR MY LIVES, ANY OTHERS' LIVES. NO ONE IS ASKING YOU OF ANYTHING MORE THAN THAT. JUST STAY THE FUCK OUT OF OTHERS' LIVES. THIS IS WHAT MAKES ME SO FUCKING SICK OF YOUR HOLIER THAN THOU SANCTIMONIOUS CRAPPOLLA. YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE, BUT WILL NOT STOP THERE. YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE ELSE FALLS INTO YOUR LOCK-STEP, EVEN IF IT MEANS CHANGING LAWS TO DO SO. THAT'S WHAT I FUCKING HATE ABOUT YOU SANCTIMONIOUS BIBLE-THUMPING ARROGANT IN-YOUR-FACE AND IN-EVERYONES'-LIVES BIG GOVERNMENT NONSENSE. NO ONE IS ASKING YOU TO THINK LIKE I THINK. JUST DO NOT MAKE ME DO WHAT YOU THINK.

FUCK, IT'S SO FUCKING SIMPLE.

Dabe: I've said it before and I'll say it again...you're not going to have any sort of impact on anyone with your ranting trash talk.

I respect your beliefs, and in fact, I share many of them, but woman, you scare me. I know in your personal life that you are a successful woman with a family and friends, but here on JU, you remind me of Mrs. Crabtree from South Park.

Do you have any control over how worked up and insane you let yourself get?

*shudders and tiptoes away so as not to be bludgeoned with insults and profanity*

TW, thanks for your concern. You may call it trash talking, but I don't. To me, it's frustrated emphasis. And, I find it interesting that no one seems to take issue with men who say "fuck", but when a woman does, OH NO, it becomes so threatening. I find that to be very sexist, and I do it to make a point. Fact is, no one listens unless you raise your voice. They just patronize you till you just go away.

This whole debate angers me, and I was really responding to that arrogant sob who seems to think his beliefs are the end all/be all. They are not. All I ask is that these self rightous dimbulbs back off of those in society who do not agree with them, and let people just live their lives. If you don't agree with abortions, then don't have one. I just don't understand why they insist that we must adhere to their beliefs.

And thanks, Phoenix. My heart is just fine. It's the joints that suck. I sure would avail myself of the results of stem cell research if they come up with a cure for psoriatic arthritis. I'm not so hypocritical to say I would not, and just suffer. Also, I'd bet that once the research yields favorable results, the cures would be so far removed from the original stem cells, that these hypocrits won't even realize that their treatments were once the result of such research. It will be a non-issue.

Maybe we just have to wait for this generation of sanctimonious slobs to just die off. I know this sounds kind of harsh, but they seem to have no qualms about insulting me. Why should I have to tiptoe on eggshells around them? I'm not looking for friends here. I'm just making some political hay.

You forgot the Adult Content warning.

A shame your mother does not agree with you.  I am sure she would now tho.  And reverse her course of many years ago.

Dabe, you are an angry, angry woman.....are you a midget, by any chance? Sorry, inside joke.
I agree that abortion should be an option for women who are raped, or are otherwise threatened health-wise by the baby, but to use abortion simply as a method of birth control? No. If you're willing to take on the responsibility of having sex, take proper precautions or deal with the consequences.
If you don't want to take care of them, put them up for adoption; my wife and I are having trouble conceiving and may not be able. We'd love to adopt a baby someday. If everyone thought like you, there'd be none for us or anyone else to adopt.
Abortion is a very selfish thing to do, on so many levels.

Now, stem-cell research....the jury is still out on that one for me. There are lots of benefits, yes, but where do the cells most often come from? Aborted fetuses....therein lies rub.

Profanity has nothing to do with "growing up". It's about your stupid sexist attitude. As for conspiracy theories, what are you? 15 years old? You just to stinkin' lazy to do any research, so you buy into whatever pablum the bushies feed you? Do some freakin' homework. And hate. I hate the neocon dickwads who are running this country. You guys just make me a bit sick.

I do not think that abortion should be used for birth control. But, the laws should never be written for the comparatively few that would use it for such. The laws should be loose enough so those who may need one can really sincerely decide for themselves if an abortion is their best option. I've know women who have agonized over their pregnancies, and some have opted for the abortion. It was their heart felt and deep decision. It should not be dictated by some dumb suits who never ever have to go through this kind of decision.

It astounds me that the dumbasses who want to criminalize abortions are the same dumbasses who want to remove sex education from schools, offer only the proven failure of abstinence only, just because it makes them feel warm and fuzzy, and deny women birth control, and they want to make it hard, if not impossible for teens to get condoms. All of these shortsighted warm fuzzies only result in more unwanted pregnancies, for which they then want to criminalize abortions. What a bunch of hypocritical morons.

This is not a utopia. It never will be. So, get over the fact that teens and others will get themselves pregnant. Stop trying to return us back to the Victorian Era. As an aside, I think more porn novels were written during that era, as a result of the sexual repression that was rampant throughout society then. In other words, the more you fight it, the worse it becomes. You, drguy, drmiler, doggydoo, etc. cannot stop it. All you can do is force it into back alleys, thereby maiming and killing the women instead. But, like good conservatives, your thinking really is "life begins at conception and ends at birth." Otherwise, you wouldn't be forcing women into these dangerous positions, wouldn't be advocating for the death penalty, wouldn't be sending soldiers into battle to kill or be killed, or just be killed anyway.

Hypocrites....................

You are really a lunatic. Your use of profanity shows you have no class or respect for anyone, even yourself. Your fanatical rants sound just like a small child who doesn't get their way. You want to tell somebody to grow up, start with yourself.

You just to stinkin' lazy to do any research, so you buy into whatever pablum the bushies feed you? Do some freakin' homework. And hate. I hate the neocon dickwads who are running this country.

You never do research except for what you find on far left websites. You constant conspiracies about wars for oil, etc., show you have no grasp of reality. You seem to buy into whatever the left tells you. Every single talking point from left wing websites you quote. Whether it be the false numbers from Iraq, oil war rhetoric, Halliburton conspiracies, and your Fox News obsession. It's all the same with you people.

I am glad you admit you have so much hate. Do you realize hate is the reason democrats keep losing? Do you understand your obsessive hatred will help Republicans win elections?

I do not think that abortion should be used for birth control.

Good...this is a start....

The laws should be loose enough so those who may need one can really sincerely decide for themselves if an abortion is their best option.

And they're not? How much more loose would you have them be? This isn't 1922, dabe; abortion is legal now.

I've know women who have agonized over their pregnancies, and some have opted for the abortion. It was their heart felt and deep decision. It should not be dictated by some dumb suits who never ever have to go through this kind of decision.

I've known women who agonized over their pregnancies, too, and decided to abort them. Know what happened? Every year when their due date rolls around, they get depressed and cry. I've known several women who had this same experience. And I might point out that there are plenty of women who are anti-abortion, too, not just the "dumb suits" you refer to.

Abortion will never again be illegal....that Genie is long out of its bottle. The whole idea now is to convince people, kids especially (and I mean KIDS, too....I mean, the last thing anyone wants to see is as pregnant 11-year-old,and that does happen) that abstinence is the best way to go (which rarely, if ever, works). Barring that, they should use protection. Protection from pregnancy can also mean protection from STDs....so, we have to have sex education in schools to show them why they need to use that protection. I, for one, do not advocate any of the things you accuse us righties of....I think abortion should be an option, just not for birth control (you know..."oops...well, time to go to the doctor......again). Sex ed is an important component of biology, so you can't bar it.
I think some people, when they hear "Sex Ed" they still think the kids are being taught how to HAVE sex, as stupid as that might sound ("Now that it's stiff, Jimmy, go on and put on your condom. Okay...well done. Now Janie...spread your thighs and smile alluringly at Jimmy while pulling gently at your hair. Great! Now, Jimmy...go ahead and insert your Thingy into Janie's Hoo-ha....thaaaaat's right. Now, squeeze her right nipple, ever-so gently...gooooood..... now kiss her...use just a little tongue...great, great.....no, no biting....unless, of course, the other persons likes it...next week we'll learn about foreplay.")
I don't think it's the place of the schools to be handing out condoms, though. Let the Gynos and free clinics do that. That's their place, not the place where Jimmy and Janie are supposed to be learning how to be responsible people and citizens (of course, our hallowed halls absolved themselves of that little nugget a long time ago, so I can see why some of you might think it's okay). My tax dollars go to pay for books and educational equipment, and I wouldn't want my kids getting condoms there, too. Sorry, that's how I feel.

This is not a utopia. It never will be. So, get over the fact that teens and others will get themselves pregnant. Stop trying to return us back to the Victorian Era. But the Lefties think it CAN be, if only we'd just let the government run everything for us. Why do you think they keep using the courts rather than the electorate to get their laws passed (See Roe v. Wade if want a reference on this practice)?
Life is sacred to me, dabe, from birth to death, and even beyond...and that's why I support sending strong, armed troops to liberate a nation governed by a tyrant, where life is cheap and thousands of mass graves, filled not with the bodies of foreign enemies, but rather domestic ones, litter the country. Life is sacred, dabe, and the people living it deserve to be free and secure.
You know, disparage the past and the "Victorian Era" all you want to, dabe, but people had respect for themselves and others in that past, a thing they sure as hell lack today. What looks, to me, at least, to have preciptated that erosion of respect? I'll tell you, dabe: all the feel-good, open-minded, "It's-your-thing-do-what-you-wanna-do" liberal ideals that our society has allowed to be inflicted upon us by myopic lefties like you, who want to drag us into your way of living and thinking whether we want it or not. Who's the hypocrite?
Those ideals you champion have eroded our moral base and left us nearly directionless in a way we haven't been in our entire history. Thanks for that, dabe, and all you liberal whackos out there. Thanks a lot.

dabe -

Ignoring your truculence (as Howard Cosell might say), I agree with you 100% on both issues.

Women should be free to be pro-abortion or anti-abortion according to their own consciences and I agree it is morally wrong to use abortion as birth control.

And it is possible to conduct stem-cell research ethically for the benefit of mankind.

Now, someone get the smelling salts for dabe, quick.

Cheers,

This is the first time I have agreed with anything that you have posted. I know that if abortion is illegal, it will only turn to the back alleys and women will still do it. To me, that doesn't change the fact that I believe it to be morally wrong. I also believe that it would be wrong to outlaw it.

On the other hand... You are a person who calls others hypocrites when they seem to trample on your beliefs or lack there of. (not a shot, but it seems quite obvious that you aren't a person who could be considered religious) Is it not hypocritical to say you want to protect the rights of everyone in your cause? But, when it come to a belief that isn't something held by you, you trample all over it. You think the Southern Star (confederate flag) is a symbol of hate. I think it is a symbol of my heritage. If it is wrong to not allow gay marriage based on civil rights issues, then why is it not wrong for you to infringe on my civil right to celebrate my heritage. I understand that that flag is one used by hate groups. I also know that it had a great history before it was used by those backwards rednecks. It seems like you like to play both side of the fence. Jump to one when it is in your viewpoint and the other when it isn't. To me that sounds a bit like a ... well ... hypocrite.

As I just posted in another thread, you certainly have a right to display the confederate flag all you want. But, whether you acknowledge it or not, others, including myself, consider it to be a symbol of a racist history. So, don't get all up in arms when people come along and accuse you of racism if you display it. "I may not like what you say, but I respect your right to say it."

I really wish that abortions were not necessary. But, sometimes they are, and for whatever reason a woman deems it is for her, is her perogative. And, I will never, ever place the rights of an unborn fetus over those of the woman. Never. As far as I'm concerned, a fetus does not have equal rights until it is born. There are very, very few late term, third trimester abortions, and I'd argue that those late term fetuses that could be born, should be if they can survive reasonably well, and the delivery of them will not harm the mother. Otherwise, the right to have an abortion is between a woman and her doctor. It should not be outlawed by any person in Congress. I agree with you. If outlawed, it will only push them into back alleys, thereby putting the women in danger.
