Has anyone seen this movie? It has Ben Afflec and Morgan Freeman in it. Be aware! Do not hesitate for a second to think that this senario could happen! Given what we know about the terrorists and bin Laden it's more than possible! The movies premise is terrorist smuggle a nuclear device into the country in the form of a cigarette machine and place it at a football stadium in Baltimore,MD. Where it's set off

The movie was a pretty decent "prequel" of the Jack Ryan franchise. Ben Affleck played a pretty good young Jack (he did much better than Alec Baldwin, but nowhere near as good as Harrison Ford.. but anyway)... The premise was awesome, the set up was great, the execution of the climax was great, but the ending was pathetic! I mean, how are we to believe that just after a nuclear terrorist attack in Baltimore, anyone in any department of government would be lazing around a park enjoying a picnic? ;~D

Absolutely correct on all counts. The ending "sucked", BIG time! The whole point of the thread though was the fact that the scenario is all to possible.

wouldnt surprise me a bit if suddenly a cigarette machine showed up somewhere in the us. they could hide it between the betamax stand and the buggy whip dispenser.

i can't recall when i last saw a cigarette vending machine. while there may be a few around somewhere, i can't think of a import shipment more likely to attract suspicion. well, other than a cigarette vending machine inside a box with a label describing its contents as: 'ACME FAKE CIGARETTE VENDING MACHINE--CONFORMS TO ALL US STANDARDS FOR CONCEALING NUCLEAR DEVICES'.

Read the book!  It is much better.  And it was islamic terrorist, and the SB was in Denver, not Baltimore.

They changed it so that the parallel with Clinton would not be so obvious.

ROFL!  Yea, it would have to be a coke machine.  In the book, it was just in a van in the parking lot.  And it did fizzle as the islamic terrorist killed the Scientist before he blead off the stray netrons.  Still, it killed 20k people.
