Getting rid of that darned Flag on my Logoff screens

I know there are lost of real talented skinners here...so I'm taking advantage of your vast supply of knowledge...just how the h-e-double toothpicks do you get rid of that darned flag on the logoff image??! I have tried: 1) removing the attribute 2) replacing it with a "Magic pink" image (just got a pink square or a a blank white spot) ARGGHH! 3) deleting the flag from the file, then resaving....but it just keeps coming back!!! I must be missing a crutial step or something! All help and advise greatly appreciated.

I had that problem, too. To fix it, and my way might be totally retarded but I took that windows flag > opened in my graphics editor then recolored it NOT magic pink but a similar color to the BG. Simply resize it to 1 by 1 pixel -- same color as the BG of your logoff dialogue BG.

Not retarded, this is best way to have no flag that I know.

That flag is irritating. The 1x1 pixel option is the way to go

As Super Wizop Fuzzy Logic stated, reduce the logoff/shutdown flag to a 1x1 pixel graphic (in your paint program). If you blend the color in with the upper right section of your shutdown dialog, it wont show at all. If you dont blend it, it will show as a tiny dot, but most people wouldnt even notice it.

Sorry Master Apprentice causticFX, I didnt notice that you had suggested the 1x1 pixel thingy first. ( thats what I get for not reading the whole thread thoroughly) I take back the credit I gave to Super Wizop Fuzzy Logic and give it to you. . (just kidding fuzzy)

To blend in the shutdown flag that you have reduced to 1x1 pixel, do this: Say the upper right corner of you shutdown dialog is blue, use your color picker (in your paint program) to match that blue color, then use that color to fill the 1x1 pix graphic. Then "save" the graphic, and it should blend right in. Even if you dont match the color, It will show up only as a tiny dot, that unless it's a complete oppsite color, wont hardley even be noticed. Just a little note: That 1x1 pixel dot will end up at approx these coordinates on your shutdown doalog 286 pixels accross (from the left) and 19 pixels down (from the top) so try to match the color in that area. Does that clear things up or just make it more confusing?

Archangel_Douglas...when you go to logoff/shutdown windows...the dialog box that comes up sometimes shows the Windows Logo flag at the top right of that box. Some people have figured out how to make it disappear so you may have not even noticed it when using some WB's.

oooh that.. think i know what you mean. its never on the logons i create so i completely forgot about it.
theres a line, or part of a line that adds the "flag" (or rather, an image that is the flag), so you can just cut it out i think. id have to crosscheck it with my logons, but i think thats how i do it.
