For all of you Stardock fans out there check out the great idea they have for a MMO. Wow. If it is anything like as good as GalCiv then I might as well prepare for the Divorce now. At least I have a year's warning.

Congratulation Brad and team for comming up with what look's like a fantastic idea and I look forward to this with eager anticipation.

Looks nice. And if I understand correctly what it is written, you can't be attacked by other players if you have 3 or less provinces. Nice system to prevent death

WOW! Society sounds fantastic! Will TNG members be considered "Premium" members automatically?

I loved the idea for Society so much that I joined this board just to find out new info about it. This sounds like such an awesome idea!

Go Stardock! I guess they know why their supporters really believe in their stuff but let's reiterate: CariElf!
Anyway, I also really like what I see. Never do something with style when you can do it with substance.

Everyone should remember: massive multiplayer RTS is no easy thing: all tried, all failed. See Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMORTS
So it's serious challenge. But I reiterate:

Never do something with style when you can do it with substance

Hmmm, yet anoter game I will have to have. Looks great Stardock, only am I correct in assuming that once all the territories have been taken by the players, no new players can join until the game is over??

Perhaps I should mention OGame http://ogame.org/ as it is "strategy" AND "real-time based".

Maybe there are lessons to get from them, albeit in a limited way... Anyway, for all of you, the game seems nice!

Glad you like the concept.  As things progress, we'll be able to lay out more of the game mechanics that we think you guys will really get a kick out of.

A lot of the energy is going ito making it fun to play over hte long haul.  Fighting wars is only one aspect that you would do only about as often as you kill creatures in say World of Warcraft.  Much of the time is spent building up your society, trading with other players, negotiating treaties, managing your society's overall resources, etc.
