User Pic on a network domain computer

User Name gets put in the wrong place

Microsoft says:

To apply a unique picture to a user account
Your computer must be a member of a workgroup or a stand-alone computer to add pictures to user accounts. User account pictures are not available on computers that are members of a network domain.

If the skin I am using is configured for a user pic; my user name is shifted to the left where the user pic should be. How do I make it so the user name is where it should be?

A shift to the left sounds like hide user pic is enabled, set up for no user pic. Open with SkinStudio ( free from
software tab if you do not have ) click XP Taskbar beside preview, click on user panel. On right will be settings, hide user pic, cna be set to enabled and disabled. Also in Text Settings first two are for user name, hor. and ver.
4 settings for each, by playing with these should be able to get user name the way you want it. Save changes and reapply skin each time, open start menu to check changes.

Thank you for the tips. That fixed me up. You're the best!!

BTW: I also had to enter a value into "Minumum X value for text". This value's help field states "Minumum X value for text. Can be used to stop user name text shifting over when in a domain environment".

No problem. I did not know about Minimum X value. A pixel at a time movement of user name, that will be very handy.
Thank you.
