Why Liberals make me angry

I need to use the barf bag! The libs here will "try" to weasel out of this. They'll say your wrong, crazy, ignorant and stupid. What they won't tell you is that your truthful! That is if any of them have the guts to respond.

USA is not my homeland, but why is it everything is one of two camps, liberal and conservative? ... I prefer the Indian perceptioin of the 4 directions. Or hippocrates.....Choleric...Phlegmatic....Sanguine......and Melancholic and variations of all those inbetween. Left and RIght is what is known as dualism I think and is essentially in itself a conservative, well not really conservative, but a narrow-minded perception of reality. I just finished explaining to my boys that it is important if you are a believer to not be all lop-one-sided, that one should try and find a way to communicate your thoughts and feelings that are part of the flow of life....Now, according to this messed up view it always those guys against these guys. Sort of a Pink Floydd...perception...US US US and THEM....that's what the fightings all about. The neutral camp, always gets called liberal. But I have witnessed many so-called conservatives talk like they share both views, simply cause they are to afraid to commit themselves...they wanna be cool, but they don't wanna feel cool...etc..etc...just a litle puzzled at this rather wierd way of seeing things in black and white...with no grey...and ofcourse the whole spectrum of colour....blindness...we had it in South Africa for so long.....hence Nelson Mandela brought the words which seem to held my attention and aggrovated the conservatives.....He talked about 'our Rainbow Nation'

I guess by now, you have guessed I am niether, just curious as to why such a primitive way of thinking still exists in the year 2000. It is what the Crusades was built on....it would be nice for once if there was no more of this sort of thing. I say let the 'old man' ideologies of democracy go and die, an a new world be born where every colour race creed and idea is accepted not because it is black or white wrong or right, but simply because people aught not to be so threatened that they cannot allow another to have thoughts and feeling and a mindset that might differ from the rest.....being unique is a far off reality when one still carries around North and South like the USA were the only doggy in the Universe....Well, now I did enjoy that...however, I might change my view after this that is the joy of having not a liberal mind but and open mind where sides just don't matter at all, to me what matters is if you actually are nice to people....nice. Ofcourse there is an anvil that an be dropped...one like this......

....or it just isn't.....Rainbows have many colours....people are far more complex than this primitive definition.....of left and right...black and white....a little bit out of step with the spiritual perception....I'm gone...this is not a nice place for me...tired..need sleep..must go....try not to get to worked up.....debate...debate....head will start to ache...beware my intrepid anvil...it gets a lot bigger.....BIGGER...HUMUNGOUS!!!

I can't speak for the FAR left liberals, but some liberals are against your reasons (these are only really my beliefs, but here they are anway):

I have made this point several times that liberals are only liberal when you are in total compliance with their sick and twisted down right unamerican thinking.

Guess that means I'm not a liberal.

They wish the total annialation of religion from any public forum

I will hone up to this belief, in a sense. I don't think we should be ridiculous, like taking down Christmas decorations, but I firmly believe in separation of church and state.

they think the common man is some kind of idiot and needs there guidence

Well, I believe in big government, and, truth be told, I have generally low expectations about the human race...but when someone thinks they're complete idiots, I generally say "They may be stupid, but they're not idiots."

they think that murdering a fetus is ok

I do support abortion, and while I'm a bit uncomfortable with the idea, I don't think it's murder.

they think that the whole world is right and america is wrong all the time.

Finally, a break with the far left. We're not always right, the world isn't always right. It's a case-by-case thing here, in my opinion.

They think handouts for the poor for the rest of there lives is just fine unto the 4th generation and past that even.

Again, a break with them. I support welfare, but a limit on it. In the words of Clinton: "Welfare should be a second chance, not an entitlement."

I know you meant this towards the far left (you even said it, don't think I didn't notice). But, just a defense of the moderate left, and maybe just a bit emphasizing that you aren't generalizing here for those who don't notice.

I have to disagree. It's the total annialation of any Christian religion. They don't seem to have a problem with islam.

Hooray! It's not for me because I can't join the Democratic Party because I'm not American! Besides, I probably wouldn't join anyway. They are just too conservative for my tastes...

YOu have already stated you are left. Which could be liberal, or just left of center. YOu have moderating (not moderate) views. We disagree on some issues (Abortion being one), but you back yours up with rational and sane thoughts. You may or may not like Bush, but you do not hate him. You disagree with many of his policies, but agree with some others.

In short, you are the antithesis of the character Moderateman describes. And those do exist. One would hope that we can get back to a real debate in politics, and the more left or liberals, like you there are, the more hope we have.

It is a little bit more complicated than that. Altho the CIA involvement was alleged, so was MI6 and several other western governments. Allende scared the hell out of a lot of leaders in the west, and caused a general depression in Chile as they pulled their investment out. That lead to the unrest which Pinochet took advantage of.

Of course as most Chileans found out, the cure for the depression was often worse than the cause as many people simply disappeared.
