maximise size

hey all, ever since i installed desktopx (that ive uninstalled now) i can't get my windows to maximise to the correct size! now when i maximise my windows the hide the taskbar which is a real pain in the ass... please help me out guys! thanks! ciao

Right click on taskbar select properties, check keep the taskbar on top of other windows, click apply. If it is already checked, uncheck, apply, recheck apply.
