Turner's Got Game

<FONT face=Arial color=#000000 size=2>Turner Broadcasting has announced a new service to start this fall allowing gamers to download up to 300 games from 17 publishers. New games are set to be added weekly after launch with over 1,000 titles currently licensed. <BR><BR>Gamers will be given an "all-you-can-play" access to the games on up to two PCs as long as they pay the monthly fee. The games will be downloaded to one's computer, not played over the network to allow the games to always run smoothly. The press release did not give a price range for the service but the <I>New York Times</I> has priced the serviced between $10-$20, and the games will not be playable if the service is canceled. <BR><BR>"GameTap," the services name, will give gamers exclusive looks at current and upcoming games and will also allow publishers to squeeze a little more money out of older games. Stay tuned for more information.<BR><BR>"With GameTap, Turner fills a need in the industry for a viable post-retail sales channel for games," said a statement from Dennis Quinn, executive vice president of business development, TBS, Inc.
