WindowBlinds not skinning

This is a fresh install after reformat

It could be missing something. I just reformatted my PC...reinstalled SDC...reinstalled all the apps and everything else seems to work accept WindowBlinds. So I uninstalled it again and reinstalled and still nothing. Any input would be appreciated.

Assuming you can get the configuration panel to show when you start the program - can you see "wbconfig.exe" running in the task manager?

If so, does "wbload.exe" show up after selecting and applying a skin (or attempting to apply)?

Hi Corky...I can see all the appropriate files such as wbconfig.exe (which wasn't running in the task bar...wbload.exe shows up in my task manager and the blinds appear to want to load but all I get is the color scheme of the particular blind, meaning it shades the windows and backgrounds. Strangely enough my "rightclick" gets skinned but nothing else.

WebGizmos,

If you are running XP, can you get the default Windows XP theme to apply through "Display Properties > Theme tab". If so, does the explorer shell act normal?

If the above is true, and WindowBlinds is set to the defaults - I would suspect a possible ".dll" issue.

You may want to return Windows to default theme including all icons > unload all programs > save all WB skins to a temporary folder, then use the zapper utility Link to uninstall WindowBlinds only.

Reboot computer > go to "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop" folder (where "C" is the letter drive), and delete any WindowBlinds folder left there.

Start SDC, and verify that you have the most recent version of SDC(2.07.330 Build 86).

If not, update SDC first.

If so, reinstall WindowBlinds > reboot computer > test WB functionality.

Note - you could check to see if the Stardock MCP functions are enabled via SDC > Tools > Settings, but this is not really in line with a failure to apply the skin to the explorer shell.

That's it for me, hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will stop by.

I hope this helps.
