Linux rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Linux rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe you me! Linux really does rock! I mean c'mon, all that software that included with it. my distro, SuSE linux has not let me down one bit! All the functionality included with it is just so amazing, i have only been using linux for a couple of weeks and it has never crashed, no probs, at all! Anyone who uses windows: partition your hard drive, go to PC world and buy SuSE linux, install it and away you go. It is just soooooooooooooooooooo cool! Its fast, easy to use and beats windows ultimately!!!! Go on spoil your self and enjoy your computer for what it is!!!

Thanks for the thread, Shaman, it has been most useful as I like to experiment and evaluate things for myself. I have yet to install it, but I downloaded the DVD version of Linux -Fedora to play with and get a handle on it. Whilst its said to be easily downloaded, I recommend a third-party download manager with resume capabilities as there are time-outs and etc that the Windows one doesn't like, even on ADSL. After one failed attempt and having to start over from scratch, I installed a free download manager which handled it admirably - for those who are considering it. For those on download caps, perhaps you could use such a manager and set it to download in intervals to avoid going over? Just a thought!
Anyhow, off to play with Linux

if you want something like desktopX look up either adesklets, gdesklets, or superkaramba.
The first one has the leaset bloat and dependencies

I just wish that Linux had better wireless support then I would be all about it. Maybe I should try SuSE again since I figured out my screen bug.

I went back to windows from Ubuntu after I felt that, even when running a "stable" version, I was constantly using software that was unfinished or unpolished.

I'll only replace Windows when I can get an OS that will run Star Wars Battlefront and Morrowind, as well as any other games I will want to pick up in the near future with as good or better performance than Windows.
