Taskbar corrupted

Almost everytime I change skins, my taskbar becomes a partially skinned ghost, nothing clickable, but the icons in the notification bar are still active (blinking). The real taskbar has disappeared and I have to restart the windows shell to get it back. The problem seems to have appeared with the two latest builds of WindowBlinds (now 4.51.047).
I have been using WindowBlinds since version 3 and never had this very annoying problem which makes WB unusable. I have uninstalled WB several time already, to no avail.
Win XP SP2.

ben1605,

Not sure if this will help, but in working with someone else who's taskbar was not being skinned, the fix turned out to be deselecting and reselecting the taskbar related options in WB Config > Basic Settings.

Might be worth a try.

Corky_O, thanks I will try that, although it seems to me that I have already tried it. I wonder if the problem could be related Basic Settings > Performance > Enable Hyperpaint. I don't know what exactly this function does. Setting it to Smallest seemed to help, but then the problem reappeared. The loss of the taskbar is random and unpredictable so far.

If reducing hyperpaint seemed to help, then perhaps it is a graphics card problem... hyperpaint uses your hardware (such as gfx card) to make windowblinds run faster; maybe try turning it off?

and if it doesnt work for you, then you should just roll back your wb version to the last stable version and wait for then to address the issue (if it is a wb issue)

Thanks Halluci, I might as well do that! The taskbar sometimes also freezes when I right-click on an icon ...
