To Manopeace...

If someone would be so kind as to add forward these words to Manopeace for me, I'd be most grateful. Thanks in advance.

Apparently somewhere along the way I earned a spot on your black list. Lord knows what earned that spot for me, but I will say in response to your thread on Political Bashing that I don't think you are wrong that people have gone too far in the political bashing and personal bashing back and forth.

I wish that people would direct their energy into really solving the problems -- lobbying congressmen and congresswomen if necessary to help get the types of programs they want enacted, or have changes made to programs that already exist. Certainly there is much more to be gained by going that route as opposed to continuing to post on the same tired subjects here at JoeUser.com While many of us may wish that JoeUser got more attention and helped to solve problems because of it's importance on the political map, I think we're mostly smart enough to recognize that the average congressperson has no idea that any of the threads here even exist. Most of their staff are probably just as clueless about JoeUser.

Civility is a good thing, and I applaud your request and hopes that people will be more generous in their use of it. Even when people have disagreements, they can and should be civil in their discussion, as they can (as I've said before) learn much by continuing to discuss issues, rather than blatering on and ignoring what the other side has said. Communication is a two-way street, it takes listeners and talkers. Some people are better than others at one side or the other, but the best communicators are people that do both without ignoring the importance of the other.

Best of luck to you in all you do, and please don't ignore threads that I and others may start. Your comments, like almost everyone elses (there are a few select idiots that I wish would take their tired acts elsewhere, but even they have a right to speak up if they don't abuse the priviledge) are always welcome to help broaden everyone's horizons.

Thank you for you words of support... it means alot to me. If you are on my blacklist, it is not intentional...but if it is so I cannot take you off it, that function does not work for me. As soon as it works, you will be off the list if you are on it.
Again, thanks...

This may sound cruel, but I wouldn't sweat it, he rarely adds anything insightful or interesting to the political forums that you tend to concentrate your postings on.

Honestly, I'd prefer to have as open an audience as possible. Whether someone may or may not ever really seem to add much to conversations, I'd rather think they might (call me an optimist if you wish), and hope people will add something that helps further understanding of either side of an issue.

Even if I disagree with someone, helping to see their side of things may help me (or others) learn of something we might have over-looked. It may help point out unintended consequences of actions, or show weaknesses in our plans and programs, and best yet, it might wind up educating some people with disagree with so they better understand why we feel the way we do.

Normally it's a win-win for all.
