A+ in support

I must say, I see a whole lot more feedback from the designers and developers in this forum than I did when MOO3 was in beta. I'm also happy to note that so many bug reports are responded to timely, even if it's a "Noted, and written down" message. I think it help to give the beta testers and fans the impression that you really care about this.

Way to go guys, A+ in support from me Keep up the good work.

(Atleast I think it's the developers doing this, where do I find a list of who's who on the boards?)

I agree...the support that the folks at Stardock provide is unsurpassed. You guys definetely deserve a lot more credit than you get.

Thanks guys   As the snowball gets rolling (more people to the board and deadlines get closer) we may be less responsive, but we'll try out best.

As for developers on the message board, the run down is...

Frogboy (Brad): Project Manager, AI Coding
CariElf (Cari): Game Code Lead
Mudflap (Joe): Foundation Code Lead
Mormegil (Paul): Art, UI Design
Boogiebac (Scott aka Myself): Art, Bug Management, and Any Priority Code that Spills Over

I've been amazed by Stardock's communications from Day 1, and this beta is no different. Thanks for everything!

Here, here! I second that! My relationship with Stardock started with Gal Civ 1, and since then everything's been great!

Yeppers. Star Dock is A-#1! [Meatwad] Frogboy is the Duke of New York! [/Meatwad]

Star Dock is fantastic at providing support, and they make high quality software. If only more companies could learn from them. Sigh.

The GalCiv (both 1 and 2) developers are the greatest. If the MOO3 development team had employed the same attitudes perhaps it would have been a much better game.

Star Dock is its own publisher. No outside force that tells them that Date X is set in stone, and whatever they have, ships. Makes a big difference, being your own boss.

LOL, Star, that's not exactly true. Their real boss is the players, and aggrivation at delays could set Date X in stone after a while Hopefully not before it's done though. Thanks for the info BoogieBac, I've seen atleast 2 of you on here (CariElf), and have heard about Frogboy (haven't seen a post yet) Only 5 developers though? Wow, small team!

Frogboy (haven't seen a post yet)

Well, Frogboy and Draginol are 2 different accounts for the same person. And Draginol has posted a new thread in the Galciv Dev journal

Well, I haven't seen Frogboy, and haven't looked for a Draginol yet. Now that I know that one I'll keep an eye out.

Btw, when I hit quote on someone elses post, it just puts a quote/endquote block in the post window without anything in between. Is this the way it's supposed to work, or am I being stupid? I'm tired of having to manually add the meat to my quotes with cut and paste.

Zippo342, , it is true that they are their own boss. Last thing we heard from Brad and his people, it's their non-game tools and products that are their current main revenue streams. The games are just fun things that happen to pay for themselves with a little extra at the moment. So, what happens with the games, good or bad, isn't a big deal as long as it doesn't carry over onto their company's lifeline of revenue. Brad has stated it's that revenue that provides Star Dock with the independance to do a project right.

It seems that most of Star Dock's GalCiv customers understand that we get what we get, when we get it. We might moan a bit about a release not being out when we want it, for whatever reason, but it isn't costing SD sales. Most of the vocal customers seem to greatly appreciate the support Star Dock provides. I bet that kind of support gets lots of their customers to recommend them to others.
